We break our main expenses down into broad categories starting with the big 3; housing, food and transport. Everything else falls into the entertainment category, with any large inclusions explained in detail.

We break each of these categories down in the following sections, giving detail for any large expenses.

The housing category consists of our mortgage payment, overpayments, bills, insurance, DIY costs etc.

Mortgage£415
Overpayment£335
Bills£147Gas, electricity & water.
Council Tax£111

We continue to be very happy with our energy supplier, Octopus Energy. Our energy is from 100% renewable sources too which is a great bonus. If you are interested, click through this link and you will get £50 and so will we! It can be hard to find a decent energy company but we really do recommend Octopus.

Food

Our September spending on food was £393. As explained previously, this includes everything on our supermarket shop receipts for the month.

Transport

We had a couple of long trips in September so the transport spending is higher than we would like! Hopefully this will be lower in the coming months.

CategoryAmountNotes
Fuel£140
Total£140

Entertainment/Misc

Our September spending includes a fairly high total for eating out. This is because we went away for a long weekend and had a few meals out! We also paid for private physio for Mr Way for a long-running injury. Fingers crossed this will be worthwhile!

Otherwise a good month with no large spends – long may it continue!
