Decision Made

In our post Decision Time, we outlined the huge decision we’ve been facing in the last few weeks.

Well, after many sleepless nights and much deliberation, we can now announce it’s decision made……

We’re moving to the Caribbean!

In somewhere around 6 months time, we will be leaving our home for the last 7 years and moving to the other side of the world!

It all still feels rather surreal, especially as we can’t tell everyone yet. Mr Way has 3 months’ notice at work so we can’t tell them until we know an official date!

However, we’ve told those closest to us and we’re excited to start planning. We need to sort so many things between now and move day that it’s quite overwhelming, but we’re sure it will all be worth it when we’re living in the Caribbean!

The ‘To Do List’ includes:

  • Sorting medicals for all of us
  • Getting Baby Way a passport!
  • Updating Mrs Way’s new surname on her passport
  • Selling our house
  • Selling (almost) everything we own
  • Making arrangements for leaving work
  • Seeing friends and family as much as possible
  • Logistics of flying around the World with a crazy 15 month old

And probably, many, many more things!!

Thank You

We wanted to say a huge thank you to those who commented and gave advice. It really helped our decision. At the end of the day, we just thought it was worth giving it a go. We were already likely to move house and Mr Way needed a new job anyway, so it seemed a good time to take the leap.

With the Autumn weather now really kicking in here in the UK, the decision is really looking like a good one!

Stay tuned for more updates on the whole process of shifting our lives thousands of miles across the World!

Congratulations. I think it’s a fantastic decision. It’s a great phase of your life to give it a go and if things don’t work out then it gives plenty of time before having to make decisions about school and so forth.

I look forward to the updates. Will give a real dimension to your blog moving forward.
