We’re Home! Africa Snaps

Africa Series – Part 2

That’s it – we’re back! (Actually, we got back at the end of August but we’ve been kind of busy….)

Over 6 months in the planning, our Africa trip was over in a heartbeat. We saw incredible wildlife, stunning scenery and got to meet some inspirational locals. It was truly a life-changing experience for both of us. We’re so happy we got to make those memories together.

We’ll review the trip in a lot more detail in future posts. This will include a full breakdown of the final costs as well as in depth posts about each area we visited.

For now, here’s a quick summary of what we got up to with some photographs.

Starting Point – Nairobi

A day of visiting the giraffe centre, elephant orphanage and bomas of Kenya before we set off on our G Adventures trip!

Kenya – Wildlife!

So much to see! We visited the Maasai Mara which was phenomenal, before passing through Lake Nakuru and Eldoret on the way to Uganda.

Mr Way out-jumping a Maasai Warrior!

Uganda – Beautiful Scenery and Gorillas!

Most of our time was spend in Lake Bunyonyi. This is a beautiful area and was a great base for our gorilla trekking!

Day Trip to Rwanda

There was some beautiful scenery on our trip to Rwanda and it seemed like a fantastic country. We really want to go back at some point. However, the main focus of our day was visiting genocide memorials and museums. For obvious reasons, we didn’t take any pictures of these places. The true magnitude of what happened really hit us hard and we strongly recommend going if you get chance.

Serengeti – Big Cats and Dramatic Landscapes

After some long days travelling we arrived in Tanzania and it didn’t disappoint. The scenery at the Ngorongoro crater was impressive and the Serengeti National Park really put on a show with some exciting wildlife sightings.

Zanazibar – White Sand and Blue Sea, Relaxation!

The end of our trip was on the paradise island of Zanzibar. This was such a relaxing place. We went snorkeling, had morning runs on the beach and generally chilled out!

Dubai – a 12 Hour Tour on the Way Home!

We stopped off in Dubai! A quick stop at the Burj Khalifa was followed by a tour of the sights including Atlantis the Palm, Burj al Arab and others.

We hope you liked our snaps! Keep an eye out for more detailed posts about our trip 🙂
