Monthly Spending – April 2023

Summary

Welcome to our April spending post! Our total spend for the month was £6,602 or $7,922

A two week holiday to Antigua has really destroyed our spending this month!

We had already paid for the flights and half of the villa, but this month added the extra half of the villa as well as all of our eating out/activities while away.

Fingers crossed we can get back to normal in the coming months, we certainly won’t be going on another holiday for a while so that should help!

We break our main expenses down into broad categories starting with the big 3; housing, food and transport. Everything else falls into the entertainment category, with any large inclusions explained in detail.

Entertainment/Misc

It’s painful reading for our April spending in this category. We ate out a lot in Antigua, but that was always the plan as food is a big deal for us. We also paid off the balance for our villa, and various activities, hotel shuttles etc.

On top of that, we also had to pay to renew our blog hosting and domain name registration. Who knew it was so expensive running a website! Fingers crossed someone is actually reading this to make it all worthwhile!!

CategoryAmount ($)Notes
UK Phone Bills$16
Student Loan$295
Eating Out$1,233
Presents$186
Airport Transfers$125
Antigua Villa$1,419
Holiday Activities$300

Website Hosting and Domain$329
Total ($)$3,913

That’s All for Now, Folks!

Considering the average US household spend is $5,111 we’re very happy with our spending. We live on a very high cost of living island!

See you next month!
