Monthly Spending – October 2021

Summary

Welcome to our October spending post! Our total spend for the month was £2,312

At the start of the month we had a trip away. Several meals out and an expensive Safari Park trip soon add up. We also had an issue with our car this month.

We break our main expenses down into broad categories starting with the big 3; housing, food and transport. Everything else falls into the entertainment category, with any large inclusions explained in detail.

We continue to be very happy with our energy supplier, Octopus Energy. Our energy is from 100% renewable sources too which is a great bonus. If you are interested, click through this link and you will get £50 and so will we! It can be hard to find a decent energy company but we really do recommend Octopus.

Food

Our October spending on food was £301. As explained previously, this includes everything on our supermarket shop receipts for the month.

Transport

Ouch! An expensive month by our standards. We had a couple of long trips in October combined with a brake problem.

CategoryAmountNotes
Fuel£138

Entertainment/Misc

Our October spending includes a fairly high total for eating out. We had a trip away and ate out a few times which soon adds up! We also had to pay for new passports for Mrs Way (change of surname) and Baby Way (first passport!) due to our impending move across the world!!

Not a great month by our standards and we’ll look to improve this in our final few months of life in the UK!
