Summary
Welcome to our August spending post! Our total spend for the month was £4,383 or $5,259.
With our UK visit over, August was about settling back into our new routine in the Caribbean. Spending wise, we had a fairly consistent month and would be happy if we could stick around this level for the next few months!
We break our main expenses down into broad categories starting with the big 3; housing, food and transport. Everything else falls into the entertainment category, with any large inclusions explained in detail.

---|---|---|---|
Housing | £2,412 | $2,894 | See below |

Food
Our August spending on food was £847/$1,016. As explained previously, this includes everything on our supermarket shop receipts for the month.
There’s not much to comment on here. We hope to reduce this total slightly going forward, but it’s about right.
Transport
A couple of additions here. Firstly, an annual car registration fee. Secondly, we got a flat tyre which needed replacing!
We’re happy with our low fuel costs. This will increase when Mrs Way goes back to school, but Mr Way cycling to work has certainly helped keep our fuel consumption down.

Our August spending in this category includes some of our ‘stocking up’ from our UK visit. We also did a ‘family photoshoot’ while back home and decided to pay for some prints. Other than that, a fairly good month.

That’s All for Now, Folks!
Considering the average US household spend is $5,111 we’re very happy with our spending, considering we’re on a very high cost of living island! Long may that continue.
See you next month!
